What is a Live-in Relationship? A live-in relationship is when two adult partners choose to live together without getting legally married. They cohabit and share responsibilities like a married couple but without formalizing their relationship through marriage. Key Features: ✔ No legal marriage, but mutual understanding and commitment. ✔ Freedom & Responsibilities – More flexibility than marriage, but fewer legal rights. ✔ Legal Aspects in India – Some rights are granted, such as protection for women, maintenance rights, and child custody considerations. Important Points:  Social Perspective: In India, live-in relationships are still viewed differently by society, with mixed acceptance. Legal Rights: The Supreme Court of India has granted some rights, but they are not the same as in marriage. Emotional & Financial Stability: A live-in relationship requires mutual understanding, commitment, and shared responsibilities.
